Suntago Water World, Europe’s largest indoor waterpark located near Warsaw, Poland, expanded its offerings in January 2023 with the addition of Crocodile Island, a new family-friendly attraction. This expansion adds another dimension to the already impressive 75,000 square metre facility, which boasts a consistent 32°C temperature, 18 swimming pools, and a thrilling collection of 35 waterslides. The park’s continuous development aims to solidify its position as a leading European aquatic entertainment destination.
Developed in collaboration with Creative Studio Berlin, Crocodile Island introduces three new mascots: Jag, Maggy, and Otto. The island is divided into four distinct zones, each catering to different age groups and interests. The Boat zone serves as the entry point, featuring a large, eye-catching boat structure. The Beach zone, designed for younger children, offers various play areas, building activities, and a stage for live entertainment. The Rainforest zone allows children to explore a large climbing tree, engage in educational games, and enjoy a dedicated soft play area. Lastly, the Ruins zone caters to teenagers, offering interactive water spray games, contests, and challenges.
Beyond Crocodile Island, Suntago Water World is segmented into three main areas: Jamango, Relax Suntago, and Saunaria. Jamango provides a family-friendly tropical experience with a themed water jungle, palm trees, sunbeds, multiple waterslides, a lazy river, and dedicated baby pools. In contrast, Relax Suntago offers a tranquil escape exclusively for guests aged 16 and above, featuring hot tubs, thermal pools, sulphur pools, and brine pools. For those seeking relaxation and rejuvenation, Saunaria offers a diverse selection of 15 saunas, steam rooms, and hot tub pools.
The park also caters to diverse culinary preferences with five on-site restaurants serving American, Asian, and Polish cuisine. Four poolside bars, along with juice and snack bars, ensure convenient refreshment options throughout the park. For extended stays, the adjacent Suntago Village provides 92 fully equipped bungalows, accommodating groups of four to eight people. This integrated approach to accommodation enhances the overall visitor experience, allowing guests to immerse themselves fully in the waterpark’s offerings.
The development of Crocodile Island represents a significant investment in enhancing the guest experience at Suntago Water World. Park of Poland CEO, Idan Greidinger, highlighted the collaboration with Creative Studio Berlin, emphasizing the transformation of the 1,000 square meter area into a unique themed playground. The early positive reception from guests further validates the success of this new attraction in adding value to the overall park experience and attracting families seeking immersive and engaging entertainment.
Ticket pricing for Suntago Water World begins at PLN 155 (approximately £30.76) for adults and PLN 95 (approximately £18.65) for children up to 120cm tall. Situated approximately an hour’s drive from Warsaw, the park is easily accessible. Direct flights from various UK airports to Warsaw are available via budget airlines such as Ryanair and Wizz Air, further facilitating international visits.
Suntago Water World faces competition from other emerging water park attractions within the UK. Therme Manchester, for instance, promises 25 swimming pools, 25 water slides, and an indoor beach. Other projects include Modern Surf Manchester, a surfing lagoon; Chessington World of Adventures Waterpark, featuring wave pools and slides; The Cove Resort, Southport, with a water lagoon and thermal spa; and The Seahive, Deal, positioned as a surfing wellness resort. These developments highlight a growing trend in the leisure and entertainment sector, with increasing investments in large-scale water-based attractions.
Furthermore, Poland itself offers another notable water park, Energylandia, boasting 36 waterslides, 7,000 sunloungers, and affordably priced cocktails. This diverse landscape of water park attractions provides visitors with various options and underscores the increasing popularity of this form of entertainment. Suntago Water World, with its continuous expansion and focus on diverse offerings, aims to maintain its competitive edge and appeal to a broad range of visitors, solidifying its position as a leading European water park destination.
