Numerous carers in Scotland are set to receive a £293.50 direct benefit cash uplift by TENS of thousands this week. The Government of Scotland (GoS) has introduced a new service, called Carer’s Support Allowance (CSarah), as part of the twig system to provide additional financial assistance to those independently caring for disabled people. The benefit is typically paid twice a year, reducing the burden on carers by providing a steady income exposure.
In addition to receiving CSarah, carers who already qualify for carers’ allowance (ClaA) can opt for a supplementary payment of £60 to their allowance. This additional cash will double-paid into the bank, ensuring carers continue to receive support.
