Some children of the age of 12 and above can get a Coronavirus vaccination shot from 20th July. The eligible members are the people who are over 12 years and clinically vulnerable, or if they are living with someone who is.
Pfizer or BioNTech vaccine
The Health Secretary announced that the children over 12 would be offered the Pfizer or BioNTech vaccine on the NHS. They should contact about the booking rather than to have their GP themselves.
Sajid Javid said he had accepted the advice given by the independent Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation(JCVI). It has ruled out an extensive Vaccination of healthy children for now.
Conditions after vaccination
For vaccination, some of the conditions included severe neuro-disabilities, immunosuppression, Down’s syndrome, multiple or some severe learning disabilities.
Other conditions like type 1 diabetes are few that are not currently on the list. Young people aged 16 to 17
The children who are 16 to 17 years of age with underlying conditions in health put up a higher risk of covid should get their vaccination slot under existing guidelines.
The JCVI has said that the people like guardians, parents, or grandparents who stay with kids aged 12 to 17 should also get vaccinated at cost.
This rule was brought to protect the loved ones at home who might get into severe coronavirus and may not have immune protection from their covid vaccine.
Vaccination For below 18s
Mr. Javid said that the advice given does not recommend vaccination for those under 18 years of age without underlying health conditions.
The covid-19 vaccine has prevented over 11.7 million infections and saved around 37000 cases in England alone. The vaccines are helping the people to build a wall of defense, and they are the best way to protect from a severe illness. Javid encourages everyone eligible to get their jabs as quickly as possible.

Announcing in the commons about the move, the vaccine minister Nadhim Zahawi said that the people would have questions regarding the vaccine and its means for the children and them. Still, underlying health conditions can assure that there will be no shortage of vaccines and will get in touch with them at the right time. It may be a delay, but it will indeed be provided and notice whenever the doses arrive. The mission is, everyone should get vaccinated and stay safe.
