Benidorm is a popular summer holiday destination for Brits, but one expert has revealed why it’s also a great winter hotspot. TUI travel agent Jacqueline Anderson has been visiting Benidorm for winter holidays for 15 years and believes that the Spanish town is just as enjoyable during the colder months. Despite most people being drawn to Benidorm for its beaches and nightlife, Jacqueline points out that it still reaches highs of 17C in December and offers a range of activities for winter visitors.

Jacqueline, who has nearly two decades of experience working as a travel advisor for TUI, recommends Benidorm as a destination for a winter getaway. She believes that escaping to warmer climates between November and March is a great way to beat the winter blues, with the sunshine, slower pace, and affordable prices making it an ideal time to recharge. Jacqueline personally enjoys booking trips to Benidorm in December or March to take advantage of milder crowds and great deals.

She also provides tips on how to explore Benidorm during the winter months, such as visiting the Old Town and experiencing Tapas Alley, which offers Spanish food and Christmas experiences. Jacqueline highlights the Christmas Market in December and the Benidorm markets on Wednesdays and Sundays as must-visit attractions. Additionally, she recommends a visit to Guadalest, a hilltop village near Benidorm that offers breathtaking views and a historic church for those seeking adventure.

While the beach may not be as popular during the winter, Benidorm still offers plenty of evening entertainment options. From late night shows to tribute acts, cozy bars serving sangria, and the spectacular Benidorm Palace Show with dazzling dancers, the town has something for everyone. Jacqueline emphasizes the importance of planning ahead for the best deals, as the “best bargains go fast,” and shares that she has already booked her December trip to Benidorm to recharge before the holiday rush.

Another Brit living in Benidorm, Michelle Baker, shares her top tips for enjoying the town, where she has lived for 40 years. Michelle highlights the fresh and delicious food in Benidorm, with no pre-made meals like UK restaurants, and suggests trying a local breakfast of a toasted baguette with grated tomato and olive oil. She also points out the great work-life balance in Benidorm thanks to midday siestas and late-night socializing. Michelle recommends visiting Poniente Beach, which she describes as the “Miami of Benidorm,” and suggests looking for affordable TUI deals for a winter getaway starting at £208 per person for four nights of full board and flights.
