MORNING ARSENAL FANS
Ben White is a doubt for the London derby against Chelsea.
The defender was spotted at London Colney on Friday but disappeared ahead of training, according to football.london reporter Connor Humm.
He wrote on Twitter: “The players usually have COVID tests before training. I understand that on Friday Ben White left before training started and didn’t return.
“Not pictured in any training pictures today either. Unconfirmed but probably going to miss Chelsea.”
Meanwhile, on the transfer front, Eintracht Frankfurt have made Arsenal an offer for midfielder Lucas Torreira, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.
The Uruguayan is believed to be keen on a move back to Italy, with Fiorentina and Lazio said to be interested.
But with those clubs seemingly unprepared to pay the loan fee Arsenal desire, Frankfurt could be in the driving seat.
Torreira has been on the fringes at The Emirates ever since Mikel Arteta took charge.
Also, Arsenal are claimed to have made contact with Real Madrid over the potential signing of Marco Asensio this summer.
The Gunners have a good working relationship with the Galacticos from recent seasons, having signed both Martin Odegaard and Dani Ceballos on loan – with the former joining on a permanent basis this week.
Asensio is not up for sale but he is not indispensable either, so the winger could fall victim to the wage-cutting.
Spanish outlet Fichajes claim Madrid believe £35million would be a fair starting point for the 25-year-old.
