Jazwell Brown, a 49-year-old man, appeared in High Wycombe Magistrates Court charged with a horrific Christmas Day attack that left two women dead and two others seriously injured. Dressed in a grey tracksuit, Brown stood with his arms clasped behind his back, offering no plea to the charges against him. The court heard allegations that Brown attacked Joanne Pearson, 38, and Teohna Grant, 24, at a flat in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire. In addition to the two murder charges, Brown also faces two counts of attempted murder for the injuries sustained by 29-year-old local resident Bradley Latter and a teenage boy whose identity is protected by legal restrictions. He is further charged with possession of a bladed article, believed to be a kitchen knife, and causing unnecessary harm to a protected animal, a Staffordshire bull terrier that was injured during the incident but later survived.

The brutal attack unfolded around 6:30 pm on Christmas Day, shattering the holiday peace in the Bletchley area of Milton Keynes. Neighbors described a chaotic scene of screaming and frantic cries for help. One neighbor recounted a young boy, later identified as one of the surviving victims, running past their house, desperately pleading for help and shouting that someone was trying to kill him. The neighbor took the boy into their home, locking the doors as Brown allegedly approached, seemingly intent on pursuing the fleeing teenager. The boy, visibly terrified and shaken, sustained stab wounds to his head, chest, and finger. Paramedics later credited the neighbor’s quick actions with saving the boy’s life.

As the horror unfolded, another neighbor witnessed a woman on a balcony screaming that she couldn’t breathe, followed by the injured teenager’s desperate escape. They also saw a small white dog, covered in blood, running frantically in and out of the property. According to witnesses, the dog belonged to Joanne Pearson, one of the deceased women, and the two were reportedly inseparable. The dog, a Staffordshire bull terrier, was later taken to a veterinarian and thankfully survived. The scene quickly descended into chaos, with police and paramedics soon arriving to find a scene of carnage.

The Christmas Day tragedy has left the community reeling, with floral tributes and teddy bears placed near the scene as a testament to the loss and shock. The victims, Joanne Pearson and Teohna Grant, both residents of Milton Keynes, were tragically killed in the attack. Teohna Grant’s mother, Petra Grant, was too distraught to speak to reporters at her home in Nuneaton, Warwickshire, overtaken by grief at the sudden and violent loss of her daughter. Teohna’s sister, Parris Grant, also mourned the loss of her younger sibling. Teohna had moved to Bletchley three years prior to the incident. Photos shared online depict Teohna celebrating her 18th birthday, a stark contrast to the tragedy that cut her life short.

Initial reports suggest that a party was taking place at the flat prior to the attack, with guests arriving with presents earlier in the day. The festive atmosphere turned to horror in a matter of minutes, transforming a day of celebration into a scene of unimaginable violence. The details of what transpired inside the flat remain under investigation, but the aftermath left two families grieving the loss of their loved ones and two others struggling with serious injuries.

Brown appeared briefly before the magistrates court, where the charges were read aloud. He was remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear at Luton Crown Court on December 31st. Magistrate Bernard Crossey acknowledged the seriousness of the offenses and ordered Brown held until his next court appearance. Following the hearing, the magistrate requested a moment of silence for the victims, a somber acknowledgment of the devastating impact of the Christmas Day tragedy. The case continues to be investigated by the Thames Valley Police Major Crime Unit, who are working to piece together the events that led to this horrific incident. The families of the victims have requested privacy as they grapple with their immense loss.
