CRAFTY ideas to keep the kids occupied

Spending time indoors during the holidays or stuck in the car during a motorway traffic jam is never fun for kids.

One study found more than a third of the nation’s parents had been left stressed by their children complaining of boredom.

But beating the tedium doesn’t have to come at a price.

Try these free activity packs to keep kids busy . . .

READ ALL ABOUT IT: Head over to activityvillage.co.uk/printables where you can pick from loads of packs.

They include ones grouped by season as well as varying individual pages.

I like the book and character reports, which avid readers will love. There are also poem tasks and “complete the picture” games.

MAGIC MOMENTS: Any budding Disney prince or princess will love the selection of downloadable colouring-in pages at disneymagicmoments.co.uk.

Not only are their favourite characters featured but there are plenty of Pixar-themed sheets, including Toy Story, as well as detailed Mickey Mouse Friendship colouring patterns.

SEARCH THE WORDS: Head over to penguin.co.uk for activity packs grouped by age — under-five, five to nine and nine to 12.

The kits feature puzzles, word searches and colouring-in games with the likes of Mr. Men, as well as art tasks such as learning how to draw Ninetendo’s Mario.

DRAW IT OUT: Get the crayons ready because Crayola has a brilliant selection of colouring pages.

Pick from animals, plants, birthday templates, Star Wars designs and even Baby Shark. Head to crayola.com/free-coloring-pages to choose.

PIN IT UP: Want even more choice?

Hit Pinterest for plenty of road-trip bingo pages and easy in-car crafts. Simply search for “printables” and you will find a wide selection from which to choose.

ALL prices on this page correct at time of going to press. Deals and offers are subject to availability.
