LAUREN Goodger’s boyfriend Charles Drury has been arrested for allegedly assaulting her just hours after their baby daughter’s tragic funeral.
Police were called after heartbroken reality star Lauren, 35, was involved in a violent bust-up with her builder lover Drury, 25, in the early hours of Thursday.
Ex-TOWIE star Lauren was taken to hospital with serious facial injuries.
Her latest ordeal came after a private family funeral for her 9lb daughter Lorena – who was pronounced dead shortly after being born last month.
The alleged incident happened at an address in Upminster, Essex.
A source told The Sun: “It happened after Lauren and Charlie came back from Lorena’s funeral.
“They had a private family ceremony on Wednesday which was not publicised. It was obviously a very emotional time.
“Lauren did not drink after the funeral and was trying her best to hold it together.
“She has been interviewed by the officers on Thursday and Friday.
“Everyone who knows her is so upset – she was already at absolute rock bottom but it’s somehow got worse.”
Muscular fitness fanatic Drury – an ex-lover of Katie Price – was quizzed by police throughout Thursday following his arrest before being released on police bail early on Friday.
Dancing on Ice and Big Brother star Lauren was taken to hospital by her friend after the incident for medical check-ups.
She returned to hospital today for x-rays .
The telly beauty also went back to her local police station for a further interview – in which she added to her statement – and is being comforted by friends tonight.
Charles’ arrest came just a day after Lauren shared a touching message to lost mite Lorena.
Lauren posted an Instagram message telling how much she loved her daughter, who passed away minutes after she was born on July 8.
She said: “I carried you, I felt you grow,” the reality TV star posted to her stories alongside butterfly, angel and pregnancy emojis.
“Longed for the day we’d meet. Dreamed of your future. Not only did I know you, I fell in love with you.”
Ten doctors tried in vain to save the tot – before traumatised Lauren spent hours saying goodbye to her.
The heartbroken TV star later explained that she still “has a bit of a bump” which has sometimes tricked into thinking her baby girl was “still there”.
She said: “It’s weird. My body feels like it’s unsettled, like it’s missing a newborn.”
Lorena was born with two knots in her umbilical cord which was tied around her neck and died despite having a strong heartbeat before Lauren’s contractions began.
Lauren and Charles – father of Larose – had a rocky relationship prior to Thursday’s alleged attack.
The couple split for three weeks last year then reconciled.
But Essex girl Amy Gilbert, 24, revealed soon after that she had met hunky Charles for sex during the split at his East London home – and had even spent a weekend together.
Amy said at the time: “We were messaging for a couple of days and then he wanted me to go and meet him in a local place he was living – and I did.
“I slept with him on that night, it was quite intense at first of all, then he asked to see me again the following day. I then went and met him again.”
In 2019, Charles revealed he had been a toyboy lover of Katie Price, 44.
But he told The Sun at the time he was left “disappointed” in the bedroom and rated the busty reality show icon a “one out of ten” in bed after bedding her on their first date.
A Metropolitan Police spokesman said tonight: “Police were called at 00:37hrs on Thursday, August 4 to reports of an altercation at a residential address in Upminster, Essex.
“Officers attended. At the scene a woman, aged 30s, was found with facial injuries.
“A man, aged 25, was arrested on suspicion of assault.
“He was taken to an east London police station and subsequently bailed pending further inquiries. Inquiries continue.”
